Abstract

The most important achievement of Shah Waliullah on the intellectual and academic level is the Persian translation of the Holy Quran. This initiative is also the result of your non-taqlid thinking, although before that there is a translation by the name of Sheikh Saadi, whose status is suspicious towards Saadi, and a translation of the Holy Quran by Qazi Shahabuddin, but they were not accepted by the public. Shah Sahib felt that the Holy Quran should be translated into the learned language of the people of India (which was Persian at that time), so that people could understand it and follow it. At that time, this work was also attributed to the impoliteness of the Holy Quran, but Shah Waliullah did not give up his intention and completed this translation in 1737, five years after returning from Hajj, and made it clear to the people that the Holy Quran was therefore It was not revealed that we should recite it like a mantra like other nations, but it was revealed for guidance, for which it is necessary to understand it in our own language.
