Research Review of the Use of Roman Script instead of Urdu on Social Networking Websites

Abstract

Man, and media are related with each other. From the beginning of the history, man used to send information to other people. In the 21^st century, information technology has converted the world into a global village. This Information technology has affected human life and civilization. Language is an integral phenomenon of every society. Urdu language is also facing many challenges for its existence. Many social media users write Urdu in Roman scripts. All scripts have some limitations. Urdu scripts also have some limitations but it does not mean that total scripts may be changed to Roman script. Roman scripts have many flaws even for writing English. Urdu have more sounds than English Language. So, with these limited sounds, Roman scripts cannot be used. In this study, five videos have been selected on Facebooks.Five comments were selected which were written in Roman script. Firstly, these comments were displayed and then rewrite in Urdu script.
