Thematic comparison of Ashfaq Ahmad and Banu Qudsia's fiction
Abstract
Ashfaq Ahmed and Bano Qudsia are versatile personalities. Both of them have blessed Urdu literature with precious treasures. Ashfaq Ahmed and Bano Qudsia have experimented in also different genres as well as novel, fiction and drama. The source of their fictional themes is the environment in which the changing values of the new age, various social and societal problems and attitudes is depicted. They have presented the ground realities rather than the imaginary world, his various stories are firmly rooted in the socio-cultural, traditions and foundations in which all sections of the society are mentioned. Both Ashfaq Ahmad and Bano Qudsia have a deep passion for Sufism, so in their writings, we see the flowers blossoming of Sufism and spirituality. Both of them art’s is a beautiful blend of their environment and personalities. Ashfaq Ahmed and Bano Qudsia are the shining stars of Urdu literature in the terms of personality, art, style and thought. Their names shine in golden letters on the sky of Urdu literature.
