The role of the anti-hero in"Aisi Bulandi Aisi Pasti"
Abstract
The term antihero was coined as early as 1814. The term primarily featured in existentialist works in the early twentieth century. Antihero is a seemingly contradictory term that can be found throughout literature, film, and television. We encounter such protagonists throughout literature. which has ineffective flaws and seemingly no quality that can be called its one-of-a-kind and universal qualities. An anti-hero is a main character who lacks hero-like qualities. In this novel, the author has fully depicted the members of the royal family of Hyderabad, Nawabs, nobles, chiefs and their westernized people and their luxury. Sultan Hussain is the western character of this novel who is educated in America. He goes to Missouri every year to fulfill his indulgence. Sultan Hussain considers women as mere means of pleasure. There is no ability to accept women with responsibilities. Rather, he uses women only for his own benefit and satisfaction. Thus the main character represents a fallen social evil that proves to be an anti-hero. Thus, Sultan Hussain's Karda is unable to be a hero despite the central characters because he does not have hero-like qualities anywhere, rather he lacks hero-like qualities which proves to be an anti-hero.
