Abstract

The evolution of Urdu poetry came under the influence of Persian culture and language, from which it got many benefits in the beginning and it set the stages of evolution very quickly, but for a long time this unnecessary imitation limited the horizons of Urdu poetry. The poet also borrowed the linguistic, cultural and geographical landscape from Iran, which deprived Urdu poetry of its natural local color and beauty. If we look at the Ishqiya tradition, Laila Mujno and Shireen Farhad are considered similes and allusions for Urdu poets. Incidentally, the description of Wasal in Heer Waris Shah is brief, but the mention of gender is common in the narrative style. Especially in his similes, the earthy and unsubtle aspect of sex is prominent. However, the female characters of the story are courageous and instead of suffering and suppressing under the influence of traditional shame and modesty of women, they are active on every front for their rights.Waris Shah has summed up the culture of Punjab in this story.
