Zaki Dehlvi....Telmiz-e-Ghalib

Abstract

Mohammad Zakria Khan Zaki was born at Dehli in 1938A.D.He received his education at Dehli.In poetry Zaki was the pupil of the famous poet Mirza Asad Ulha Khan Ghalib with whom he had long Family conenctions. Zaki was an inspector of Schools . His father Sayed Mehmood Khan was also a poet.He wrote copiously and took keen part in the mushairas .He was an apt Pupil of Ghalib and many of the characteristics of Ghalib are found in his poetry.Ghalib Had a regard for him and gave him a certificate a copy of which is found in the Diwan of zaki.He was a poet who with his uniqe poetic diction ruled over urdu literature.He always try to found a new subject but when a subject did not appeal to him he had a good sense to avoid it .zaki’s dewan was published  during his life time He left behind him many pupils the most famous being Molvi Hashmt Allah Hashmat,pandit  jwahir  Nath koul Saqi,Akhtr Sadique,Aseer badiwani,Toula Hussain Toula and and molvi Sayed Ahmad Dehlvi the author of frhangh Asfiya.He commanded considerable  influence in poetical circle and was regarded as a creditable expotent of the old school of urdu poetry.
