Abstract

This paper explores the vulture symbolism in Bano Qudsia's "Raja Gidh," analyzing its relevance to modern corruption and socio-economic challenges. Stemming from the novel's significance in Urdu literature, the research aims to parallel vulture symbolism with contemporary economic pressures and moral decay, reflecting on societal norms. Using a qualitative approach and thematic analysis, it uncovers nuanced connections between literary symbolism and socio-economic realities, highlighting the interplay between economic pressures, moral compromises, and societal corruption. The findings recommend ethical awareness, responsible governance, and moral education as solutions to modern corruption, contributing to a deeper understanding of ethical dilemmas and promoting critical thinking. Overall, this study underscores the enduring relevance of literary symbolism in addressing pressing socio-economic challenges and provoking critical reflections on human nature and societal ethics.
