Professor Shaukat Mughal's Saraiki Linguistic Services: A Review

Abstract

Professor Shaukat Mughal is one of those writers whose creative consciousness is an important addition to the capital of Urdu and Saraiki literature.  Shaukat Mughal was a great intellectual and educationist of Saraiki Wasib who became famous as a linguist.  It is difficult to get a complete knowledge of his personality because he was the owner of a multifaceted personality. Shaukat Mughal devoted his entire life to the service of knowledge and literature.In order to live in society, a person starts to speak and learn.  We can say that it is a tool through which a person consciously presents his intention with his idea in a clear manner as if language is an important means of conveying ideas to others. Language is known as"Lasaan" in Arabic.  Linguistics means language, while linguistics refers to the knowledge of language, and in English it is called language. Linguistics is the study of languages, their words, their sounds, and the study of these sounds and words according to rules and principles. When we study Saraiki linguistics, we realize that this language has an important existence in terms of linguistic research.  We can call Saraiki the ancient language of the Indus Valley. The Saraiki language has its own separate existence and specific script and specific words are characteristic of it.
