Meer taqi Me er (1723 - 1810) was the leading U rdu poet of the eighteenth century. He was renowned as “Ghazal Go” ( غزل گو ) but his creativity showed his remarkable talent in other genre s of Urdu poetry and prose. Meer’s Masnavis are consid ered a showcase his mastery of U rdu poetry. These Masnavis provi de us a window of a clear reflection of the political and soc ial situations of his era. Meer Masnavis serve as a powerful commentary on the burning civilization of subcontinent in 18 th century ، offering insight into the complexities and challenge of indian culture and civilization.
