Keywords:

According to Matthew Arnold, literature is “the criticism (or reflection) of life.” Thus, literature becomes limitless within it, every aspect or point of life can be expressed. In this way, the science of psychology directly or indirectly studies a person’s inner states, mental experiences, and external actions and behaviors. The true center and focus of the universe is the human being. Hence, psychology takes the human self and its behavior as its subject the human, as a living being, acts within this ever-changing world and constantly responds to the shifting phenomena and events around them.In his novel “Khuda Ki Basti”, Shaukat Siddiqui has depicted the semi-feudal and capitalist society that emerged in Pakistan after the partition of India through the characters and has boldly described its inner realities, how fraud and lust were being promoted under the guise of democracy and religion. It has successfully portrayed such a deceptive society in the mirror of reality.
