The Urdu Language and literature Tradition in Swabi: A Brief Overview

Abstract

The role of every region is vital in the advancement, promotion and development of Urdu litterateurs (writers) of each area have, to the best of their ability, mad this language their medium of expression and presented their creations within it. These very poets and litterateurs, while writing in their regional and mother tongues, also take refuge in the national language to convoy their voice, thought, ideas and opinions to every corner of the country. The continuous and widespread tradition extends from Gwadar to Karachi, from Karachi to Lahore, and from Lahore to Khyber. Within this vast chain is included Swabi, a fertile district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where an extensive treasure trove of urdu language and literature exists. This repository contains all genres of poetry and prose, which have already earned high praise and appreciation from literary readers and art critics alike.
