Abstract

Literary letters are an important and authentic source of Urdu literature, reflecting not only the personal lives, intellectual tendencies, and literary ideas of writers but also the social, cultural, and academic conditions of their time. The significance of unpublished literary letters becomes even greater because they preserve valuable information, opinions, and literary discussions that are often absent from published material. These letters serve as primary sources for the reconstruction of literary history, the understanding of literary movements, the accurate study of literary personalities, and the interpretation of the creative process. The study highlights that the editing and publication of unpublished letters not only safeguard literary and cultural heritage but also open new dimensions for future research. The research concludes that the systematic collection, compilation, and publication of literary letters play a significant role in strengthening the scholarly and critical traditions of Urdu literature.
