Abstract

This study explores the influence of the poetry of Hafez Shirazi on Sindhi poets and writers who have expressed themselves in English. Hafez’s lyrical style, mystical vision, symbolic language, and humanistic philosophy have transcended geographical and linguistic boundaries, leaving a profound impact on literary traditions across South Asia. Sindh, with its rich Sufi heritage and longstanding cultural connections with Persian literature, has been particularly receptive to the themes and aesthetics of Hafez’s poetry. This paper examines how Sindhi English poets and writers have incorporated Hafizian motifs such as divine love, spiritual quest, tolerance, beauty, and the unity of existence into their creative works.
