This study examines the expression of the sorrows of the contemporary world in the Urdu ghazals of Zahoor Nazar. As a distinguished modern Urdu poet, Zahoor Nazar reflects the socio-political, cultural, and moral realities of his time through a poetic voice that combines artistic elegance with intellectual depth. His ghazals move beyond the traditional themes of love and mysticism to address issues such as social injustice, political instability, human alienation, moral decline, and the erosion of cultural values. By employing rich imagery, symbolism, and lyrical expression, he transforms individual emotions into a broader commentary on collective human experience. This research adopts a qualitative and analytical approach to explore how the poet represents the anxieties, sufferings, and aspirations of contemporary society. The study argues that Zahoor Nazar's poetry not only mirrors the complexities of modern life but also inspires reflection, resilience, and hope.
