An Analytical Study of “Novel Century Number,” a Special Issue of the Quarterly Journal “Aabshar”

Literary journals have always played a significant role in promoting Urdu literature, exploring new literary dimensions, and critically examining various genres. The quarterly literary journal Aabshar also holds a prominent position in highlighting contemporary literary trends and encouraging creative and critical discourse. This research paper presents an introductory, thematic, and analytical study of the journal’s Novel Century Special Issue. It examines the intellectual, artistic, and stylistic development of the Urdu novel over the past century through the critical essays, scholarly studies, interviews, and opinions of distinguished writers included in this special issue. Using descriptive and analytical research methods, the study classifies and evaluates the contents of the issue thematically.
