Study of Khadija Mastoor's Novel Aangan: In a Post-Colonial Context

Abstract

After the War of Independence, the best literature flourished in the Late Nineteenth Century and Early Twentieth Century, because the literature created in this period was the best representative of its era in all perspectives of Political,Social and Economic purposes .In order to explore the universal truths of Literature, it is necessary to study new Readings and new Dimensions of each piece of Literature because with the passage of time, Ideas also change and the main reason for this is that in Research  Nothing is final in the world because only a Researcher can breathe new life into a piece of literature by examining it and gives this creation familiarity with new Aspects.  It has become a common practice among us to study Literature under New Critical Theories so that new Readings and new Meanings of Literature can come out in the best Research way. When we study the tradition of the novel in the context of the Political and Social scenario of the modern age, the fact becomes clear that the contemporary situation is not entirely devoid of the traditions of the Past, but it is an expression of the problems arising from within the Society.  In this paper, Khadija Mastoor's novel "Angan" will be studied in the post-colonial context.
