Cultural Devastation, Globalization and Contemporary Urdu Short Story

Abstract

Globalization is a process under which the whole world is assumed to be turned into a global village. But due to varying interests of nations the desired result is still afar. Now Globalization is supposed as a tool of western powers by which they rule the entire world. Globalization has deep effects on the cultural pattern of Pakistan as well. Many colors of Pakistani culture are contaminated by the attack of globalization, so the Pakistani literature portrays globalized Pakistani society too. In this paper I have limited my topic to cultural devastation resulted by globalization, and its partial representation in contemporary Urdu short story.
