Abstract

This research article examines the concept of pluralism by exploring its linguistic origins, terminological meanings, intellectual evolution, and practical dimensions. The paper clarifies that pluralism is not merely the tolerance of differing opinions, but a well-established intellectual and social principle that recognizes diversity in human thought, society, culture, and political systems. This study elaborates on the various types of social, cultural, political, and religious pluralism, while also presenting an assessment of both the positive and negative aspects of pluralistic attitudes. Mix methodology will be used during the study. Ultimately, the study concludes that when pluralism is embraced within principled boundaries, it can become a means of intellectual development as well as an essential prerequisite for peaceful coexistence, social order, and collective progress in the modern era.
