Comparative Analysis of the Novels “Animal Farm” and “Lord of the Flies”

Abstract

This article presents a comparative study of George Orwell’s Animal Farm and William Golding's Lord of the Flies, focusing on their plots, themes, characters, cand similarities and differences as well. Both novels depict the struggle for power, darker aspect of human nature and leadership conflicts. A political allegory in which animal revolt against human oppression but eventually fall under a new form of tyranny, highlighting the failure of revolutionary ideas and corruption of power discussed in Animal Farm. On the other hand, Lord of the Flies discussed how a group of boys stranded on an isolated island descend into savagery when social and moral order collapses. How beautifully both authors structure their narratives to explore authority, Social organization and morality. Golding focuses on the moral and psychological breakdown of individuals in the absence of civilization. While George Orwell’s emphasizes political satire and the dangers of authoritarian rule. The comparison shows that both novels ultimately expose the fragility of order and persistent presence of violence and domination is human society.
