Abstract

Khawaja Ahmed Abbas started his career as a journalist in English Journalism. In his literary journey spanning over five decades, he gave several collections of short stories to the Urdu language. He was also associated with the film industry. His books have been translated into Russian, German, Italian, French and Arabic. Here they have a protest attitude against social inequalities. And there is a thought to change the system. The article under review highlights the social impact of his short stories. He gave social awareness to his readers. This is the social consciousness that is seen not only in the fiction of Khwaja Ahmad Abbas but also in his screenplays. They describe the shortcomings of an unhealthy society with a healthy trend. His vision is very clear and has ideological commitment, which is a proof of his mature social and political outlook. His writings shed light on the dark underbelly of class oppression and his desire for a non-class society free from all forms of economic exploitation.
