Abstract
Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed Virk's book/writing "Urdu Naser mein Tanz-o-Mizah" was published in 2004 from "Bait-ul-Hikmat". It consists of six chapters comprising 672 pages. The writer has dedicated this book to "Urdu Mazah Ki Abroo Janab Mushtaq Ahmed Yousafi". This writing is a book form of his Ph.D. thesis. His topic is research & criticism. This book is not only criticism on Urdu humor & irony but also provides complete history. In encompasses the humor & satire in Urdu Prose. Dr. Ashfaq has not only presented research & criticism in its most authentic form but also enhanced the dignity of this art. The real field of the writer is humor & irony. But in this book, he has displayed his profound ability in the field of research & criticism that he has emerged as a great writer. He is an excellent critic & researcher. A new branch emerges in his research work; His research process is a fine example of existence for modern researchers.
