“Paap Beeti”, “Sham BaKhir”, and “Abad Hue Barbad Hue” have proved to be significant additions to the corpus of Urdu prose. Their authors, besides being autobiographers, are also poets; therefore, they have enhanced the beauty of their words with their unique aesthetic sense. In Saqi Farooqi’s autobiography the dominant attitude is that of a critic. Because of this sensitivity, he often targets poets and writers for criticism over minor issues, and his tone and choice of words at times become bitter. In Paap Betti, the author has also employed certain modern terminologies and spellings that had not been seen in autobiographies writing before. Mehmood Sham, being a journalist, provides valuable information from a journalistic perspective in his autobiography. Having spent most of his life in politics and among political figures, he frequently mentions them in his narrative- especially Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and his party- offering important insights about them. In Ali Akbar Natiq’s autobiography, the dominant tone is that of a fiction writer, Therefore, his autobiography reflects cultural nuances, particularly those of village life and rural civilization.
